Welcome to the Pictish Beast website!

In our family this charming creature is known as "The Pictish Beast."  This stained glass piece was made for  Em's parents from a drawing they made of an image found on a stone in a churchyard in the town of  Meigle, Scotland, UK.  They were so taken with the beastie that a sketch was made of it on the spot. This stone is one of a collection of  Dark Age Sculpture, showing ancient Pictish symbols along with early Christian images. As a family which veers toward the pagan influences of the world, we decided that our beastie would be an appropriate name for our website. 

As Tara states: "It is a savage beastie of great strength and character! Its protects all good pagans."
